The customer care department should undergo training as to how to deal with customers over the phone…most are very rude and impatient and some are liars.i have been told that am not the only one with power problems so i wait and untill then theres nothing they can do.one even hang up on me.seriously kplc..are u rily keen to having a brighter kenya with kind of rude staff that u have employed??

There is avery notorious man in nairobi north region called jacob otieno.he is very rude and arrogant and thrice we have had an altercation because of his rudeness saying we shall get power when he is free. And everytime he has fixed our meter they are all faulty because we end up being the only house in the whole building with no power. Can our problem be fixed,and can jacob otieno also be dealt with and should know that without us there is no work for him??nkt.i stay in pangani area.

  4. Plz kplc i don’t understand how a whole estate would go without electricity for a whole month. The matter had been reported along time ago but no action has ever been taken,this is winda estate of Rongo town , being served by the kisii kplc .plz can you help us ?

I applied for new connection at Konya, (Kisumu) three months ago, since Sunday 13th march, a contractor has been visiting my site demanding for 5000/= before he can connect electricity and he is even saying that if I don’t pay him I wont be able to get electricity till October as that is when I am due, that even if I go or call KPLC office nothing much will be done as he is the one who has power over any connection. KENYA! OH MY KENYA! This is my first house I have built and am just wondering if this is what people go through, I don’t mind using kerosene or solar but if this is what it is, then this worries me a lot.

I am a resident of kisumu town, i paid for a new meter on the 16th of December 2010 but upto now, the meter has not been fixed, my several visits to the KPLC offices has proved futile as they just tell me that they will bring the meter. is it really true that KPLC fixes the meter 3 days after payment of the required fee? Can the regional manager do something about this matter?

  9. Corrupt officer at Kerugoya Office.
    Pple are crying roundly. since the introduction of rural electrification,pple of Kimandi sub-location,Inoi location,Kiandieri Village had been applying for power. One they are given Quotation of over a million,two it takes more than 4 months to get a Quotation. Some are connected to power over 600metres radius while others are denied. Kindly send an audit team to save your reputation.

  10. Fed up with meru branch. From october 2010 and a sh 6500 to a one very tall man(the leader of the cartel) and yet no connection. Ref.E25302010090727. WHO WILL RESCUE US. Over to u lumumba.nkt!

    Why do we have power disconnections in Eastleigh always when we watching news and nice programmes in the evenings….KPLC wake and serve the pple!.

    I live in Machakos kithini area, and we have not had elec since yesterday (6th Nov) at 3 pm. Telephone lines go unanswered and Nairobi South personnel Rachel does not have any other number. Can something be done ASAP? And please give us a number that will not go unanswered.

I cant even appreciate one single moment of your service,this is because i have been paying my power bill yet your officers in Zimmerman headed by one Mr Weru are busy disconnecting the power from the post.Should you take time and explain this to me? i pay for my account but i am not ready to be accountable for other people’s accounts.
    I am also fed up by visiting your office at Stima Plaza only to be given false promises by your sweet talking staffs.
    I am also thinking of withdrawing my account and can do with candle or paraffin.
    This is the fourth time for me to complain without any tangible result.

  14. we paid for the connection,and power line was put upto the house.However,every day we are told we cannot pay for meter as nairobi have to authorise.This is in munanda farm,subukia,sidai project.We need power now so that KPLC can earn!
    Our many visit to nakuru office is not helping as they say Nairobi have to authorise.Cant believe some of the things we hear, as only a simple email is being waited for.

  15. i paid for a new connection in full more than two weeks ago in Ongata Rongai but so far i have not be served by KPLC.

    Do i need to pay any other monies to the KPLC team charged with the responsibility of connectin the power ? and will i get a receipt for that transaction?

    who do i get a refund of the meter which i paid twice because counter 7 personnel at electricity could not hear of the new connection fee paid in full but wanted the meter fee paid separetely at that counter nothing more nothing less.

    This is not acceptable for such kind of service.We want to move this country forward by servicing our customer with deligence and commitment without asking for bribes.

    I paid for the above service 4 weeks ago and signed the contract 2 weeks ago.

    So far, a cable has been wired to my house from the nearest pole in Kitengela almost a week ago

    I am still waiting for a cut-out and meter to be fitted

    How long will this take???

    Was concerned how soon we can get power connect at Ndaragwa area of Nyahururu.
    (Area with the mobile phone masts).
    I have seen the wired poles in place but not empowered yet?

      Paid for power in 2011. Recently construction done.
      Cut out, meter, cable all in place. But power connection yet to be done. I have run out of patience. I mean it.
